Vazgen Tevanyan Wins Bronze at the 2025 European Freestyle Wrestling Championships

Armenian wrestler Vazgen Tevanyan (65 kg) won a bronze medal at the 2025 European Freestyle Wrestling Championships.

In the bronze medal match, his opponent, Georgian wrestler Goga Otunashvili, was unable to compete due to injury, and Tevanyan was declared the bronze medalist.

Tevanyan’s performance at the tournament in Slovakia:

Round of 16: Tevanyan (Armenia) – Islam Guseynov (Belarus) 3–0.
Quarterfinal: Tevanyan (Armenia) – Ibrahim Ibrahimov (Russia) 2–3.
Repechage: Tevanyan (Armenia) – Krzysztof Bienkowski (Poland) 3–0.
Bronze Medal Match: Tevanyan (Armenia) – Goga Otunashvili (Georgia) — opponent did not appear.

For the 25-year-old Tevanyan, this bronze is his first career medal at the European Championships. Previously, in 2023, he won gold at the continental tournament.
