Armenian boxer Valery Oganisyan claimed an important victory at the RCC boxing event, headlined by the bout between Dmitry Bivol and Michael Eifert.

In one of the fights on the card, Oganisyan faced another unbeaten Armenian boxer, Gor Khachatryan. The super lightweight contest went the full six rounds and ended with Valery winning by unanimous decision.

For Oganisyan, this victory became the tenth of his professional career. His record now stands at 10 wins and no defeats. Khachatryan, meanwhile, suffered the first loss of his professional career and now has a record of 6 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat.

The fight was entertaining and competitive. Oganisyan worked better at distance, actively used his jab, moved faster and more often forced his opponent to miss. Valery looked more composed, controlled the course of the bout with his lead hand and regularly landed accurate punches.

Khachatryan boxed aggressively, often moved forward, looked for exchanges and relied on powerful hooks. In some moments, Gor managed to catch his opponent with solid shots, but Oganisyan withstood the pressure and kept his advantage thanks to his speed, footwork and accuracy.

In the second half of the fight, the pace dropped slightly, but the overall picture did not change: Oganesyan looked more comfortable at distance, while Khachatryan continued to search for his chance in power attacks. After six rounds, the judges unanimously awarded the victory to Valery.

Interestingly, this was already Oganisyan’s second consecutive fight against an Armenian opponent. In his previous bout, he defeated Hovhannes Ustyan, whose record at the time was 12 wins, 2 losses and 1 draw.

Thus, Valery Oganisyan extended his winning streak and preserved his unbeaten status, while his victory over Khachatryan became one of the notable Armenian moments of the RCC event.

In the main event of the evening, Dmitry Bivol defended his WBA, IBF and The Ring world titles against Michael Eifert.
