Armenian boxer Vage Sarukhanyan earned a victory at the IBA Nomad 15 tournament, which is taking place on July 4 in Almaty.
Sarukhanyan faced Kazakhstan’s Abzal Berikuly and won by unanimous decision. The bout was held under boxing rules with MMA gloves.
For Vage, this victory became another successful performance in new formats. Sarukhanyan has extensive experience in professional boxing, where his record stands at 22 wins, 4 losses and 2 draws. However, over the past two years, he has increasingly competed in related disciplines — bare-knuckle fighting and boxing with MMA gloves.
Despite the change of format, the Armenian athlete has adapted confidently and continues to win regularly. The fight against Berikuly once again showed that Sarukhanyan feels comfortable in tough and dynamic bouts, where not only classic boxing technique is required, but also the ability to quickly adjust to unusual conditions.
Vage’s brother, Vladimir Sarukhanyan, is also scheduled to compete at the same IBA Nomad 15 tournament.
