Armenian midfielder Vahan Bichakhchyan has won the 2024/25 Polish Cup. In the final match, his current team — Legia Warsaw — defeated Pogoń Szczecin, Bichakhchyan’s former club, in a spectacular 4–3 clash.
Lukinhas, Morishita, Shkurin, and Vinagre scored for the winners, while Lončar, Koulouris, and Smoliński netted for Pogoń. Bichakhchyan entered the pitch in the 83rd minute.
Remarkably, the Armenian took part in four matches in this edition of the Polish Cup, three of them while still playing for Pogoń, where he scored two goals. Therefore, even if Legia had lost, Vahan would still have claimed the trophy, as he began the tournament with one of the finalists.
This is only the second title in the 25-year-old midfielder’s career. His first came in 2017, when he won the Armenian Cup with Shirak.
Thanks to the victory, Legia secured a place in next season’s UEFA Europa League qualifiers.
