Serbia to Host the First MMA World Championship Under the Auspices of UWW

From October 17 to 19, the Serbian city of Novi Sad will host the first-ever Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) World Championship under the auspices of the United World Wrestling (UWW). The tournament will take place at the SPENS sports complex, where fights will be held on three mats.
The competition will be divided into men’s and women’s categories. Men will compete for medals in nine weight classes: 57 kg, 62 kg, 66 kg, 71 kg, 77 kg, 84 kg, 93 kg, 100 kg, and 130 kg. Women will compete in the following categories: 50 kg, 53 kg, 57 kg, 61 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg, 80 kg, and 90 kg.
Ahead of the MMA Championship, from October 13 to 16, Novi Sad will also host the World Grappling Championship.
It is worth noting that from September 27 to October 2, another major tournament will be held in Tbilisi — the MMA World Championship under the auspices of IMMAF.
