Association of Armenian Athletes Established in the Ivanovo Region

In the Ivanovo region, the Association of Armenian Athletes has been founded by a group of like-minded individuals united by the idea of supporting young talents. One of the key inspirers of the organization is the renowned athlete, Honored Master of Sports of Russia in Kudo, Edgar Kolyan.

Edgar Kolyan is the most decorated athlete in the world of Kudo martial arts. He is a two-time world champion, winner of gold, silver, and bronze medals at world championships, multiple European and Russian champion. Moreover, Edgar still remains the youngest world champion in the history of Kudo: he won the title at the age of 19, and this record has not yet been broken.

The Association has set an ambitious goal — to provide financial and organizational support to athletes who, for various reasons, cannot independently participate in competitions, training camps, and sports gatherings. Thanks to the organization’s efforts, young athletes receive equipment and assistance with travel arrangements so that nothing stands in the way of their goals and dreams.

The Association is governed by a council of ten members, who bear most of the expenses and oversee the allocation of funds. Patrons and caring individuals also play an important role — for them, sports are more than just a hobby. They make monthly contributions to help form the support fund.

The Association is open to all athletes, regardless of nationality or religion. Its core idea is to show that sport breaks down barriers and helps people find common ground.

In addition to direct support, the organization actively develops the sports life of the region by:

• organizing football matches for adult and children’s teams,

• financing sports events of various levels,

• holding joint MMA, Kudo, and boxing training sessions for different clubs and communities.

This initiative demonstrates how the efforts of a small group of people can grow into a large movement that inspires and unites. The Association of Armenian Athletes of the Ivanovo region proves that sport is not only about achievements, but also about unity and the development of society as a whole.
