On March 8, a friendly ice hockey match between the national teams of Armenia and Czechia was held outdoors in the Friendship Park in the city of Gyumri.
The Czech team included amateur and veteran players, while the Armenian team was represented by players preparing for the Division IV World Championship, which will be held in Armenia.
The match ended with Armenia’s victory, with a score of 6:3. The goals were scored by Sergey Khudyakov, Ivan Inyakov (three times), Pavel Yeghiazaryan, and Arsen Hambardzumyan.
The Czech Ambassador, Petr Pilunchik, also participated in the game. After the match, he noted the friendly atmosphere in Gyumri and added that his teammates had arrived in Armenia just a day before the game and were tired but still enjoyed the experience.
Pilunchik also expressed hope that such a match would take place next year and jokingly said that their team would try to play on equal terms—6:6. In conclusion, he wished the Armenian national team success in the upcoming World Championship, which will take place in April in Yerevan.
All goals from the match can be watched on the AHL Telegram channel.
The IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division IV will be held in Yerevan from April 13 to 19, 2025.
