From July 4 to 12, 2026, Yerevan will host the U16 European Basketball Championship (Division “C”). The tournament will bring together nine national teams in the Armenian capital: Armenia, Albania, Azerbaijan, Moldova, San Marino, Malta, Gibraltar, Andorra, and Kosovo.
However, Azerbaijan’s participation remains uncertain. It is worth recalling that in 2025 Armenia hosted the U20 European Championship in Division “B” and despite belonging to that division, Azerbaijan chose not to take part.
The published list of U16 Division “C” participants reflects teams registered in the FIBA system as belonging to this level, but participation is not mandatory for national federations. The final roster of teams will be confirmed closer to the start of the competition.
Yerevan continues to strengthen its status as a key venue for European youth basketball, hosting major tournaments for the second consecutive year.
