Today, July 23, the U16 Boys' Volleyball European Championship kicks off in Yerevan. The tournament will run from July 23 to August 3 at two venues — the Gazprom-Armenia Sports Complex and the Russian-Armenian University Hall.
As the host nation, Armenia leads Group I. Their group-stage opponents are Poland, Slovenia, Austria, Spain, Latvia, Romania, and Greece.
The first match against Greece will take place on July 23.

Group II includes Italy, Bulgaria, Turkey, Serbia, Czech Republic, France, Ukraine, and Hungary. Italy, as one of the tournament favorites, received the top seed in Group II.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals and compete for a spot in the final.
This is the first time Armenia is hosting a European Volleyball Championship of this level. Nevertheless, the country already has experience in organizing international volleyball competitions.
All matches will be streamed live on the official YouTube channel of the Volleyball Federation of Armenia: youtube.com/@v.f.a.
