The Football Federation of Armenia, in cooperation with representatives of Premier League and First League clubs, has approved a new format for the national championship for the 2026/27, 2027/28, and 2028/29 seasons.
According to the agreement reached, 10 teams will participate in the championship. The tournament will be held in three rounds, totaling 27 matchdays. Games will take place exclusively on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
It has also been decided that the Armenian Supercup match will be held in July, right before the start of the new season.
In addition, it has been announced that the football club Syunik will host its home matches in Kapan.
The new format was developed to improve the organization of the tournament, attract more spectators, and ensure a balanced workload for the teams throughout the season.
