Sports Titles Awarded to a Number of Armenian Athletes

A special ceremony was held today at Armenia’s Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports (MoESCS), during which a number of athletes were awarded honorary sports titles. The awards were presented by Deputy Minister Hasmik Avagyan.

The title of “Master of Sport of the Republic of Armenia” was awarded to Greco-Roman wrestler Marat Adjemian; swimmers Gor Khechumyan, Anahit Muradyan, Margarita Gevorgyan, and Azat Baboujyan; sambo wrestlers Arshak Bekchyan and Gor Shatveryan; shooters Mari Ghazaryan and Hamlet Karenyan; gymnasts Ofelya Kocharyan, Zhanna Tevosyan, and Shakespeare Gevorgyan; and boxers Davit Egoryan and Harutyun Hakobkokhyan.

The honorary title of “Master of Sport of International Class” was granted to weightlifters Julietta Avanesyan, Zhora Grigoryan, and Meruzhan Yeghoyan; freestyle wrestler Levik Mikayelyan; and sambo wrestlers Mher Ohanyan and Artur Malkhasyan.

Deputy Minister Hasmik Avagyan congratulated the athletes and expressed her appreciation for their efforts in proudly representing Armenia on the international stage. She emphasized that receiving a sports title is just the beginning of a greater journey:

“I am confident that you will continue to represent our country with dedication and excellence both in Armenia and abroad. Today’s achievement is undoubtedly the result of years of hard work. I believe that with your determination and perseverance, you will reach your most cherished goals,” she stated.

Special thanks were also extended to the coaches, whose immense contribution and professionalism have played a crucial role in the athletes’ success.
