The Uzbekistan national team won the gold medals at the Ice Hockey World Championship Division IV, held in April 2025 in Yerevan. In the decisive fifth round of the tournament, the Uzbek team confidently defeated Malaysia 18–3, securing promotion — next year, Uzbekistan will compete in Division IIIB.
The path to the title was impressive. Uzbekistan earned four dominant victories and lost only once — to Armenia, and only in a shootout. However, the Armenian team, playing the tournament on home ice, later unexpectedly lost to Kuwait and thus lost its chance to take first place.
Here’s how Uzbekistan performed in Yerevan:
Uzbekistan – Kuwait 13:3
Uzbekistan – Armenia 2:3 (shootout)
Uzbekistan – Iran 20:0
Uzbekistan – Indonesia 26:1
Uzbekistan – Malaysia 18:3
The team displayed powerful offensive play, scoring a total of 79 goals in five games. The star of the tournament was forward Vadim Kravchenko, who finished with outstanding stats — 13 goals and 12 assists. He became the team’s top scorer and one of the main architects of the victory.
This evening, Armenia will play its final match against Indonesia. If victorious, Armenia will finish second in the tournament.
