Urartu secured a confident victory over Ararat in the first leg of the Armenian Cup quarterfinal. The match ended 3–0, with all three goals scored late in the game — after the 81st minute.

The hero of the match was 21-year-old attacking midfielder Artemiy Gunko, who came on as a substitute. He scored a brace and became the key attacking figure for his side in the decisive minutes. Another goal was added by Karen Melkonyan, who also entered the pitch during the second half.

Gunko has been showing consistent form this season, registering four goals and two assists so far. The midfielder holds Armenian citizenship and is considered a candidate for the national team.

In another quarterfinal clash, First League representatives Andranik and Syunik played out a goalless draw — 0:0.

The exact dates for the second-leg quarterfinal matches have not yet been announced.
