On May 30, UEFA will make a final decision on changes to the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League formats, according to BILD.
The first change is the cancellation of extra time in the knockout round. In the event of a draw after regular time, a penalty shootout will immediately take place.
The second change is that teams from the same country will no longer face each other in the knockout stages until the quarterfinals. For instance, in the current season, PSG and Brest met in the Round of 16, while Bayern and Bayer faced off in the Round of 8.
The third change is the advantage of playing at home. Teams that make it into the top 8 after the group stage will host the second leg of both the quarterfinal and semifinal against lower-ranked opponents.
