Urartu to Have Title Sponsor for the First Time in 33 Years

FC Urartu and Unibank are entering a new era: starting June 27, Unibank will officially become the title sponsor of the Yerevan-based team. The signing ceremony will take place at the club’s training ground and mark a significant milestone for both Urartu and Armenian football as a whole.

This is the first title sponsor in Urartu’s club history.

According to the agreement, the partnership aims to develop the club’s infrastructure, support the youth academy, and implement social programs. Urartu President Dzhevan Cheloyants emphasized the strategic importance of the deal:

“Partnering with Unibank is an important step toward the club’s sustainable development and achieving new heights. We are happy to work with a partner who shares our values and goals.”

On his part, Unibank Chairman of the Board Mesrop Hakobyan noted that the bank views this partnership as an investment in the future of Armenian football:

“We are proud to become the title sponsor of a team with a bright identity and ambitious goals. We believe this cooperation will lay a strong foundation for new victories and achievements—both for the team and its supporters. Unibank will continue to support sports in Armenia and promote the values of a healthy lifestyle.”

Urartu is one of the most decorated clubs in Armenia, with two league titles and four Armenian Cups. In the 2022/23 season, the team made history by winning the “golden double.” Today, Urartu consistently performs in domestic competitions and represents Armenia internationally while developing the next generation of football talent.

The partnership with Unibank will officially kick off on July 10, during the UEFA Conference League opener against Belarusian side Neman. That evening, Urartu will wear a kit bearing its new title sponsor’s logo for the first time—a symbolic start to a new chapter of growth, ambition, and triumph.
