Legia Warsaw, where Armenian national team midfielder Vahan Bichakhchyan plays, has appointed a new head coach. Romanian specialist Edward Iordănescu has taken charge of the team.
Iordănescu replaces Portuguese coach Gonçalo Feio, under whom Legia finished fifth in the Polish league last season but won the national cup and secured a spot in the Europa League qualifiers.
The 46-year-old former Romania national team coach previously managed FCSB, CFR Cluj, CSKA Sofia, among others.
Notably, under Feio, Bichakhchyan didn’t receive consistent playing time. The new coaching staff might change that, giving him a chance to prove himself in the upcoming season.
