The preliminary matches of the second day of the U23 European Freestyle Wrestling Championship took place in Tirana. On this day, five wrestlers represented the Armenian national team, three of whom advanced to the semifinals.
Narek Nikoghosyan (74 kg) and Razmik Epremyan (86 kg) suffered defeats and failed to reach the semifinals. However, Levik Mikaelyan (61 kg), Knyaz Ibloyan (92 kg), and Khachatur Khachatryan (125 kg) secured confident victories and will continue to fight for medals.
Levik Mikaelyan (61 kg) defeated German wrestler Dario Dietrich in the round of 16 with a technical superiority score of 10:0, and in the quarterfinals, he also won early against Italian Simone Piroddu with a score of 12:1. In the semifinal, he will face Ukrainian Nikita Abramov.
Knyaz Ibloyan (92 kg) confidently defeated Belarusian Artem Ignatyuk (10:0) in the quarterfinals and will face Ukrainian Denis Sagaluk in the semifinals.
Khachatur Khachatryan (125 kg) left no chance for Georgian Giga Shavadze, winning early with a score of 11:0. In the semifinal, he will face Ukrainian Volodymyr Kochanov.
Thus, in all the semifinals, Armenian wrestlers will compete against representatives of Ukraine.
