Armenian boxer from Adler, Tigran Uzlyan (12-1), secured the biggest victory of his career by capturing the WBA Continental lightweight title. On April 18 in Tambov, he defeated Spain’s Juanfe Gomez (14-2-1) by split decision.
The fight went the full 10 rounds and proved to be a real challenge for both fighters. The judges scored the bout 97-93, 96-94, and 94-96 in favor of Uzlyan.
This belt marks the most significant title in the 30-year-old’s career so far. Gomez was one of his toughest opponents, but Uzlyan rose to the occasion. This victory opens new doors for him, potentially leading to higher-profile and more prestigious fights.
