On May 3, Bratislava’s Slovan secured the Slovak championship title ahead of schedule by defeating Žilina 4–3 in the 8th round of the championship group.
After the final whistle, the team and fans celebrated their seventh consecutive title with a large celebration at Slovan’s home stadium. For Tigran Barseghyan, this is his fourth Slovak league title.
With two rounds remaining in the season, the Armenian forward continues to compete for the top scorer title. He currently leads his teammate David Strelec by two goals. If Barseghyan maintains his lead, he will become the league’s top scorer for the second year in a row.
