19-year-old tennis player Daniil Sarksian has officially changed his sporting nationality from Russian to Armenian. From now on, he will represent Armenia at international tournaments.
Currently, Sarksian is ranked 1094th in the ATP rankings and actively competes in ITF series tournaments. In 2024, he also took part in the junior Roland Garros tournament, gaining valuable experience competing on Grand Slam courts.

Daniil was born in Perm and has been training in Spain since the age of 16 at the Rafael Nadal Academy, one of the most prestigious tennis academies in the world.
Today, December 31, Sarksian will play his first match under the Armenian flag. He is entered in the ITF M15 Monastir tournament, which is taking place in Tunisia. His first opponent will be France’s Nicolas Temmachk (ATP 765).
It is worth noting that in 2024, well-known tennis player Elina Avanesyan also began representing Armenia, marking an important step in the development of Armenian tennis on the international stage.
