Undefeated heavyweight boxer Temur Mamoyan continues to move confidently toward major fights. The 34-year-old representative of Armenia claimed another stoppage victory at a boxing event in Essen, Germany.
Mamoyan defeated Todorche Tsvetkov by knockout in the second round. After this success, his professional record improved to 12-0, with all of his wins in professional boxing coming inside the distance.
For Mamoyan, this victory became another important step in the heavyweight division. He already holds the WBA International Gold belt and is ranked 13th in the WBA standings. This means the Armenian heavyweight is now inside the top 15 of one of the world’s leading boxing organizations and is gradually moving closer to fights at the highest level.
The situation becomes especially interesting considering the status of Murat Gassiev, who is the WBA heavyweight world champion. If Mamoyan continues winning and climbing the rankings, he could eventually earn a chance to fight for the world title.
Notably, two other Armenian heavyweights are ranked above Mamoyan in the WBA standings: Vartan Harutyunyan is in 5th place, while Gurgen Hovhannisyan is ranked 8th. As a result, Armenian representation in the WBA heavyweight top 15 currently looks particularly strong.
Temur Mamoyan is a Yezidi from Armenia who has been training in Germany in recent years. Although he is already 34, he began his professional boxing career only four years ago. In a short period of time, Mamoyan has managed to win all 12 of his fights by stoppage and establish himself among the ranked WBA heavyweights.
