Talalaev: Instead of Ronaldo and Batrakov, I would choose Spertsyan

Kaliningrad “Baltika” head coach Andrei Talalaev, after the RPL Round 9 match against Zenit (0:0), responded to an unusual journalist’s question.

At the press conference, he was asked: “Cristiano Ronaldo and Alexander Batrakov are both valued at €12 million on Transfermarkt. Who would you buy for that money?”

Without hesitation, Talalaev replied:
“I would buy Spertsyan.”

Journalists clarified that he had to choose between Ronaldo and Batrakov. However, the coach once again insisted:
“I would choose Spertsyan, because he is a key player of the champion team and already a mature footballer. Batrakov is very good, but he is still developing.”

It should be noted that Armenia national team and Krasnodar midfielder Eduard Spertsyan is valued significantly higher on Transfermarkt — €25 million.

For reference, Andrei Talalaev is well acquainted with Armenian football: in the 2018/19 season he was head coach of Pyunik.
