Spertsyan will not move to Southampton: the decision was made by the player himself

Krasnodar captain and midfielder Eduard Spertsyan has decided not to transfer to English side Southampton. According to Championat, the final decision regarding the possible move was made by the player himself, and there were no disagreements between him and the club.

Sources report that Krasnodar was ready to consider Southampton’s offer, but the deal depended entirely on the player’s own desire. During talks with the club’s management, Spertsyan expressed his intention to wait for other offers from Europe.

Thus, rumors about a conflict between the player and the club, as well as speculation regarding financial guarantees from the English side, do not correspond to reality.

However, it also became known today that Southampton improved their offer to €18 million plus bonuses, according to insider Ivan Karpov. Therefore, it is still too early to draw conclusions.

Earlier, the Armenian player’s agent noted that the probability of the transfer to Southampton was “50/50.”
