On December 21, the draw for the 2025 Armenian Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship took place. The tournament will be held from December 22 to 24.
The competitions will start on December 22 at 11:00 AM Yerevan time. The championship is a key selection stage, following which the Armenian national team roster for the 2026 European Championship will be formed. The continental championship will take place from April 20 to 26 in Tirana, Albania.
Due to the small number of participants in some weight categories, competitions there will be held in a round-robin format. At the same time, particularly intense and spectacular battles are expected in the 63 kg and 87 kg weight categories, where the country’s strongest wrestlers will compete: Kraen Aslanyan (63 kg), Hrachya Poghosyan (63 kg), Alex Margaryan (63 kg), Gevorg Nadevosyan (87 kg), Karen Khachatryan (87 kg), Yurik Petrosyan (87 kg), and Vigen Nazaryan (87 kg).
It should be noted that several leaders of the Armenian national team will miss the national championship: Slavik Galstyan (67 kg), Malkhas Amoyan (77 kg), and Artur Aleksanyan (97 kg).
