Republic of Ireland squad for matches against Armenia and Hungary

Republic of Ireland head coach Heimir Hallgrímsson has announced his squad for the upcoming September FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifying matches.
On September 6, Ireland will host Hungary in Dublin, and on September 9, they will face Armenia in Yerevan.
The final list includes 23 players. The squad is dominated by England-based footballers: six from the Premier League, twelve from the Championship. In addition, there are three players from the Scottish Premiership, as well as one from Serie A (Italy) and one from the Eredivisie (Netherlands).
Particular attention is on strikers Troy Parrott and Evan Ferguson. Parrott has been in excellent form for AZ Alkmaar, scoring 10 goals this season and setting a club record by netting in seven consecutive matches. Ferguson, meanwhile, has made an impressive start on loan at Roma, being named man of the match in their Serie A victory over Bologna (1:0).

Midfielders: Josh Cullen (Burnley), Jason Knight (Bristol City), Jack Taylor (Ipswich Town), Killian Phillips (St. Mirren).
Attackers: Evan Ferguson (AS Roma), Troy Parrott (AZ Alkmaar), Adam Idah (Celtic), Finn Azaz (Middlesbrough), Sammie Szmodics (Ipswich Town), Chiedozie Ogbene (Ipswich Town), Kasey McAteer (Ipswich Town), Mikey Johnston (West Bromwich Albion).

The Armenia - Ireland match will take place at 21:00 Yerevan time at the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium in Yerevan.
