Gyumri’s “Shirak” finally secured their first win of the current season, confidently defeating Yerevan’s “Ararat” 4-2.
The hosts started actively from the first minutes and delighted their fans with a productive performance. Rafik Misakyan (from the penalty spot), Sergey Manukyan, Leva Mryan (also from the spot), and the team’s newcomer Vardan Tovmasyan, who scored in his debut match, all found the net for Shirak.
Ararat responded with goals from Patrick Handzongo and Moussa Kanté, but also suffered significant setbacks: the team was reduced to nine men after red cards in the 55th and 90+2 minutes.
After 6 rounds of the Armenian Premier League, Shirak climbed to 9th place with 5 points, while Ararat remains at the bottom with just one point.
