The 2025/26 Armenian Premier League season has come to an end. The championship turned out to be eventful and full of intrigue: the battle for medals and European qualification places continued until the final round, while the fate of the teams at the bottom of the table was decided in the closing stages of the season.
Three matches were played on the final matchday. Ararat-Armenia defeated Gandzasar 1-0 at home, Pyunik beat Van 2-1, while Noah thrashed Urartu 5-0.
Before the start of the match, Gandzasar players formed a guard of honour for the Ararat-Armenia footballers. After the final whistle, the title celebrations took place. For Ararat-Armenia, this became the third league title in the club’s history and their first since 2020.
At the end of the season, Ararat-Armenia collected 60 points and earned the right to play in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. Noah finished second with 56 points, becoming vice-champions after also winning the Armenian Cup earlier in the season. Next season, Noah will start from the second qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League.
Pyunik finished third with 55 points. The Yerevan club will play in the first qualifying round of the Conference League. Alashkert took fourth place with 53 points and also earned a place in the first qualifying round of the Conference League.
One of the biggest disappointments of the season was Urartu. The team collected 49 points, finished fifth, lost the Armenian Cup final and ultimately missed out on European football.
In the lower part of the table, Van ended the season in sixth place with 31 points. BKMA earned 23 points and finished seventh. Gandzasar ended the campaign eighth with 21 points, showing noticeable progress during the season.
Ararat collected 13 points and managed to avoid relegation thanks to additional criteria. Shirak also finished the season with 13 points but ended up in last place and, if nothing changes, will leave the Armenian Premier League.
