Sensation in San Marino: Pyunik lose to Tre Fiori in UEFA Conference League opener

Yerevan's Pyunik suffered a surprising defeat to San Marino’s Tre Fiori in the first leg of the UEFA Conference League first qualifying round. The match took place on July 10 in San Marino and ended 1-0 in favor of the hosts.
Despite dominating the game, Yegishe Melikyan’s side failed to find the net, and in the 63rd minute conceded a goal scored by Tre Fiori’s Italian midfielder Matteo Manfroni.
Pyunik lineup:
Henri Avagyan — Alemao, Serhiy Vakulenko, Filipe Almeida, Aleksandar Miljković (68′ Javi Moreno) — Daniil Kulikov (68′ Agbalyan), Sead Islamovic, Wagner Gonçalves (81′ Malakyan) — Gevorg Tarakhchyan (68′ Kainourgios), Yusuf Otubanjo, Sargis Metoyan (71′ Noubissi).
The return leg will take place on July 17 in Yerevan. Pyunik now face a tough challenge, but their hopes of advancing remain alive.
On the same day, another Armenian team, Urartu, also had a disappointing start, losing 2-1 to Belarusian side Neman.
