USA Men's Freestyle Wrestling Team: 9 Wrestlers Selected for 2025 World Championships

Nine wrestlers have secured their spots for the 2025 World Wrestling Championships, and another received a medical postponement earlier. This means nine places on the U.S. men’s freestyle wrestling team are already confirmed. The decisive bouts were held on June 14 as part of Final X at the Prudential Center.
The main sensation was PJ Duke (70 kg), who defeated 2022 World bronze medalist Yianni Diakomihalis in a best-of-three series. In the deciding match, Duke was trailing 0–2 but managed to pin his opponent and win by fall.
Several world-class stars also confirmed their participation in the Worlds:

Kyle Snyder (97 kg) — Olympic champion and three-time world champion.

Spencer Lee (57 kg) — 2024 Olympic silver medalist, qualifying for his first senior World Championship.

Zahid Valencia (86 kg) — 2023 World bronze medalist, who defeated the legendary Kyle Dake.

The ninth spot also belongs to reigning world champion Vito Arujau (61 kg), who was granted a medical delay. His bout with Jax Forrest has been rescheduled for July 14.
The men’s freestyle World Championships will be held in Zagreb, Croatia, from September 13 to 21.
