Republic of Ireland announces squad for matches against Portugal and Armenia

The head coach of the Republic of Ireland has unveiled the list of players who will take part in the October World Championship qualifiers against Portugal (away on October 11) and Armenia (home on October 14).
Two key players return to the squad after missing previous matches due to injury: striker Troy Parrott and team captain, defender Seamus Coleman. Their comeback is expected to significantly strengthen both the attacking and defensive lines.

Seamus Coleman, Jake O’Brien, Dara O’Shea, Nathan Collins, Liam Scales, John Egan, Ryan Manning, Callum O’Dowda

Forwards:
Evan Ferguson, Adam Idah, Troy Parrott, Mikey Johnston, Casey McAteer, Chiedozie Ogbene, Sammie Szmodics, Festy Ebosele
Both matches will be crucial for Ireland in their bid to qualify for the European Championship.
In the first encounter in Yerevan, Armenia defeated Ireland 2–1.
