The Armenian U20 national basketball team suffered a defeat in their second group stage match at the FIBA U20 European Championship Division B, taking place in Yerevan. Peter Dominguez’s team lost to Montenegro with a score of 65–81.
The first half was closely contested, but after the break, the more experienced and balanced Montenegrin team took control and secured a confident victory.
It should be noted that Montenegro is a very strong team — they played in Division A last year and won bronze in 2022.
Once again, Armenia’s best player was Yura Melikyan, who delivered an impressive double-double with 25 points, 17 rebounds, and 3 blocks.
Armenia’s next game is scheduled for tomorrow, July 13, against Ireland.
