Armenia's national ice hockey team had a brilliant start at the home Division IV World Championship, thrashing Malaysia 24:3. This result became the largest victory in the history of the Armenian team. The previous record was set 15 years ago — in 2010, Armenia defeated Mongolia 15:0, also on home ice.

Against Malaysia, the Armenian players showcased offensive hockey and scored a wide variety of goals. The main stars of the game were Artyom Kuznetsov (6 goals) and Tigran Manukyan (5 goals). Others who found the net:

  • Valentin Kovalenko — 4 goals

  • Maksim Kuznetsov — 3

  • Arsen Hambardzumyan — 2

  • Arsen Asatryan — 2

  • Eduard Malakyan — 1

  • Seyran Saghatelian — 1

For Malaysia, Azra Faris scored twice, and Mohammad Hariz added another goal.

Armenia’s next game is already tomorrow, facing Uzbekistan, who also earned a confident win today by beating Kuwait 13:3.
