The Armenian national futsal team suffered a disappointing defeat against Hungary in their opening match of the 2028 FIFA Futsal World Cup qualifiers. The home encounter, played in Yerevan on October 20, ended in a 3-2 victory for the visitors.
Armenia delivered a confident performance in the first half, controlling the game and going into the break with a narrow 1-0 lead.
However, the situation changed dramatically after halftime. A poor start to the second half proved decisive, as Armenia conceded three consecutive goals in a short period, allowing Hungary not only to equalize but also to take the lead.
The Armenian players managed to score once more, reducing the deficit to a single goal, but they were unable to avoid defeat.
As a result, Armenia began their 2028 World Cup qualifying campaign with a home loss despite an impressive first-half performance.
For Hungary, this was their second victory of the qualifying campaign. The Hungarian team had previously defeated Sweden 3-1 at home and now have six points from two matches.
