Sardarapat steps into professional football and debuts in the Armenian First League

Football club Sardarapat has officially announced the creation of its professional team, which will compete in the Armenian First League starting from the 2025/26 season. This marks a significant milestone for the Armavir-based club, founded in 2021 by French-Armenian sports lawyer Sevan Karian.

The establishment of a professional team has long been a part of the club's development strategy. “Our goal from the beginning was to form a professional team,” Karian noted. “But we took a gradual approach — first building an academy, implementing a methodology, and working with local children and teenagers. Today, we are ready for the next step.”

The club’s philosophy is based on the methodology of French Ligue 1 side RC Lens. Over the past four years, dozens of young players from Armavir have had the opportunity to train under this system, with the most promising talents attending internships in France. These players will form the core of the new professional team.

The club places particular emphasis on its social mission. According to Karian, Sardarapat has already become an important part of the local community, making football education accessible to Armavir’s youth. The creation of a first team opens the door for these young players to reach the professional level and strengthens the club's presence in Armenian football.

Sardarapat will play its home matches at Armavir City Stadium. The club is counting on the support of its fans and declares ambitious goals — to establish itself in the First League and achieve greater success over time.

The club is expected to announce its coaching staff and the first professional players in the near future.
