Romik Harutyunyan Wins Silver at U17 European Boxing Championships as Armenia Claims Three Medals

Armenian boxer Romik Harutyunyan has won a silver medal at the European U17 Boxing Championships, which concluded in Budva, Montenegro.

In the final of the 66 kg weight category, the Armenian representative faced Italy's Raul Barone. After a closely contested bout, the judges awarded the victory to the Italian boxer by a 4–1 split decision.

Harutyunyan therefore finished the European Championships as the runner-up, securing a silver medal for the Armenian national team.

Armenia won a total of three medals at the U17 European Championships — one gold, one silver, and one bronze.

Earlier, Hakob Sharbatyan became European champion in the 50 kg category after defeating Romania's Alexandru Butan by a 3–2 split decision in the final.

Eduard Karamyan (52 kg) added another medal to Armenia's tally by securing bronze in his weight category.

All Armenian Medalists at the 2026 European U17 Boxing Championships:

  • Hakob Sharbatyan (50 kg) — Gold

  • Romik Harutyunyan (66 kg) — Silver

  • Eduard Karamyan (52 kg) — Bronze

Armenia thus concluded the European U17 Boxing Championships in Montenegro with three medals, with two Armenian boxers reaching the finals.
