Roberto Martínez Announces Portugal Squad for Match Against Armenia

Portugal national team head coach Roberto Martínez has unveiled a list of 23 players who will prepare for the opening matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. One of Portugal’s first opponents will be the Armenia national team — the match will take place on September 6 in Yerevan.
Portugal’s squad includes both experienced leaders and young talents. Armenian fans in Yerevan will be able to see the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo (Al-Nassr), as well as European football stars Bernardo Silva (Manchester City), Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United), and João Cancelo (Al-Hilal).
In addition, the list features current UEFA Champions League winners: Nuno Mendes (PSG), João Neves (PSG), and Gonçalo Ramos (PSG).

Goalkeepers: Diogo Costa (FC Porto), Rui Silva (Sporting), José Sá (Wolverhampton Wanderers)

After the trip to Yerevan, Portugal will head to Budapest on September 9 to face Hungary. Group F also includes the Republic of Ireland.
