Urartu Yerevan head coach Robert Arzumanyan held a pre-match press conference ahead of the second leg against Neman Grodno in the UEFA Europa Conference League first qualifying round. The Armenian club lost the first leg 1-2 in Yerevan.
Arzumanyan expressed confidence in his team’s readiness and emphasized that Urartu is traveling to Hungary solely for victory.
— We are better prepared for the second match than we were for the first, — said the coach. — Our form will keep improving with each game. We came here for the win and will do everything possible to achieve it. All players are ready — there are minor injuries, but overall the team is in good condition.
The coach also gave a detailed description of the opponent:
— We have studied Neman’s game very carefully. They are in the middle of their season, a physically strong team with experienced players. They play a vertical style with frequent long passes and win duels. Their structure is predictable, and we know how they act in specific situations. That’s why we’ve prepared well and know how to beat them.
The second leg will take place on July 17 in the Hungarian city of Győr, on neutral ground. Kick-off is at 22:00 Yerevan time. Despite the loss in the first match, Urartu still has a chance to advance to the second qualifying round.
