Results of the First Day of the 2025 European Taekwondo Championships (Olympic Weight Categories)

The 2025 European Taekwondo Championships in the Olympic weight categories have kicked off in Aigle, Switzerland. On the first day of the competition, Russian athletes demonstrated strong performances, winning three gold medals.
Only one athlete represented Armenia — Hayk Kazaryan (58 kg), who lost in the first match to France’s Matis Aslesio, who later advanced to the final.
Russian taekwondo fighters started the tournament confidently, securing three gold medals on the opening day:

Idar Bagov — gold in the under-58 kg category.

Rafail Ayukaev — gold in the over-80 kg category, defeating Olympic champion Vladislav Larin in the final, who took silver.

Margarita Bliznyakova — gold in the women’s under-57 kg category.
Russia also earned a silver medal through Irina Rogozina (under 49 kg).

The competition in Aigle will conclude on Sunday. Earlier, the junioe tournament took place here.
