On February 26, the first day of the Muhamet Malo 2025 Rating Tournament took place in Tirana, the capital of Albania. On the first day of the tournament, winners and medalists were determined in six weight categories in freestyle wrestling: 57 kg, 61 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 74 kg, and 86 kg.

Three wrestlers represented the Armenian national team, one of whom won a silver medal.

Vazgen Tevanyan in the 70 kg weight category won the silver medal, losing in the final to Japanese wrestler Yoshinosuke Aoyagi with a score of 1:4.

SILVER: 70 kg — Vazgen Tevanyan.

8th place: 57 kg — Manvel Khndzrtsyan.
Manvel Khndzrtsyan (Armenia) — Kento Yumiya 14:11 (Japan).
Manvel Khndzrtsyan (Armenia) — Almaz Smanbekov (Kyrgyzstan).

9th place: 74 kg: Narek Harutyunyan.
Narek Harutyunyan (Armenia) — Mohammad Mottaghinia 4:2 (Spain).
Narek Harutyunyan (Armenia) — Chermen Valiev 0:9 (Albania).
Narek Harutyunyan (Armenia) — Orozbek Toktombetov 1:4 (Kyrgyzstan).

Tomorrow, Hayk Papikyan (79 kg) and Gurgen Simonyan (97 kg) will compete as part of the Armenian national team.

Up to 70 kg.

Up to 74 kg.

  1. Chermen Valiev (Albania).

  2. Taimuraz Salkazanov (Slovakia).

  3. Murad Kuramagomedov (Hungary) and Yones Emamichoghaei (Iran).

Up to 86 kg.

  1. Chandler Marsteller (USA).

  2. Bolat Sakayev (Kazakhstan).

  3. Rustem Myrzagaliyev (Kazakhstan) and Tariel Gaphrindashvili (Georgia).

On February 27, medals will be contested in the weight categories of 79 kg, 92 kg, 97 kg, and 125 kg.
