Real Madrid defeat Barcelona in the first El Clásico of the 2025/26 season

On October 26, the first El Clásico of the current season took place in Madrid. In the 10th round of La Liga, Real Madrid secured a home victory over Barcelona with a score of 2–1.
From the start, Madrid dominated possession and created numerous chances but managed to convert only two. Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, finishing off a cross from Jude Bellingham. In the 38th minute, Fermín López equalized after a precise assist from Marcus Rashford.
Before halftime, Real took the lead again — in the 43rd minute, Bellingham scored himself after a header assist from Éder Militão.
Xabi Alonso’s team kept attacking and found the net twice more, but both goals were disallowed after VAR review. Mbappé also missed a penalty. The ending was tense: in the 10th minute of added time, Pedri received a red card, sparking a scuffle on the pitch.
With this victory, Real Madrid strengthened their lead in the league with 27 points, while Barcelona remain second with 22.
