Razmik Yepremyan defeats Azerbaijani opponent to reach European U20 final

Armenian freestyle wrestler Razmik Yepremyan has advanced to the final of the 2026 European U20 Championships in Skopje.
In the 86 kg semifinal, Yepremyan faced Azerbaijan’s Mohammad Abbaszada. The closely contested bout ended 1-1, but the Armenian wrestler was awarded the victory on criteria.
Razmik Yepremyan will face Ismail Khaniev, representing Russia, in the final.
The Armenian had produced two dominant performances before the semifinal without conceding a single point. Yepremyan defeated Israel’s Tomer Drozhnyak 10-0 in the round of 16 before beating Estonia’s Nikolai Tarasov 11-0 in the quarterfinal.
Another Armenian wrestler, Aren Hayrapetyan, will also compete in a European U20 final today. He will face a representative of Moldova in the decisive 65 kg bout.
