Ranos again without playing time: Borussia draws with Hamburg

Ranos again without playing time: Borussia draws with Hamburg
Football 💬 Comment

Borussia Mönchengladbach failed to find a winner in the 18th Bundesliga round match against Hamburg, ending in a goalless 0:0 draw.

Borussia’s squad for the match included Armenian national team forward Grant-Leon Ranos, but the 22-year-old striker once again remained on the bench. Thus, the Armenian footballer has now gone three consecutive matches without playing time: he previously did not appear on the field in league matches against Hoffenheim and Augsburg. In 2026, Ranos has yet to play a single minute in official matches.

The lack of playing time raises questions about the striker’s future at the club. Notably, Ranos also did not participate in Borussia’s friendly match during the winter training camp in Turkey, becoming the only player from the extended squad who did not appear on the field in the friendly.

According to sources, there are currently no specific offers or transfer rumors regarding the Armenian forward. Nevertheless, Borussia’s management does not rule out the possibility of his departure if a suitable offer arrives during the winter transfer window.

This season, Grant-Leon Ranos has played 8 Bundesliga matches and scored one goal.
