Yerevan’s FC Pyunik has officially announced the signing of 26-year-old Greek left-back Nikolaos Kainourgios. The player joins the Armenian club from Greek side Kallithea, which competes in the Super League.
Kainourgios has previous experience in the Belgian and Romanian leagues. He spent two seasons with Zulte Waregem in Belgium, where he played 18 matches and scored 2 goals. Later, he played 7 matches for Dinamo Bucharest in Romania.
Since 2022, Kainourgios had been playing for Kallithea, helping the club win the Super League 2 in the 2023/24 season and gain promotion. Last season, he played 20 matches in the Greek top division and scored once.
In 2019, he was called up to Greece’s U21 national team.
Kainourgios replaces James Santos, who left Pyunik just two days after signing his contract.
