Pyunik sign 19-year-old, 198cm-tall defender

Yerevan-based Pyunik have signed 19-year-old Burkina Faso centre-back Abdul Fatah Tinde Teribe, according to Cypriot media reports.

In 2025, Teribe joined the academy of Swedish club AIK. In the summer of 2026, he continued his career with AEL Limassol, but terminated his contract with the Cypriot side just a month later before joining Pyunik.

The centre-back stands 198 centimetres tall.

The signing appears logical in light of recent comments made by Pyunik's new sporting director Dmitry Selyuk, who noted that the club needed to increase the average height of the squad.

“We also see that we need to increase the team's average height to some extent, as there are practically no tall players. But we will discuss all of this with the coach, and I think the coach will also present his wishes and proposals. We will work step by step,” Selyuk said.

Teribe's arrival therefore fits one of the priorities outlined by Pyunik's new management as they look to strengthen the squad.
