Yerevan's Pyunik took an important step toward the next round of the UEFA Europa Conference League by beating Hungarian side Győr 2–1 in the first leg of the second qualifying round.
All three goals in the match were scored by Pyunik players. In the 22nd minute, Marius Noubissi opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Matas Vareika was fouled in the box. In the second half, Noubissi turned provider, assisting Danil Kulikov — but it was Pyunik captain Aleksandar Miljković who accidentally deflected the ball into his own net to make it 2–1.
Overall, Pyunik focused more on defense and performed well on counterattacks. Egishe Melikyan’s side controlled the game for most of the 90 minutes, although Miljković’s own goal slightly complicated matters.
