In the central match of the 23rd round of the Armenian Premier League, Pyunik secured an important 2–1 victory over Urartu.
Artak Oseyan’s team managed to bounce back after a disappointing defeat to Ararat in the previous round and delivered a confident performance against one of their direct competitors for top positions.
The scoring was opened by Momo Yansane, for whom this goal became his fifth in the last seven matches. Later, Pyunik’s advantage was doubled by defender Sergey Vakulenko. Urartu managed to respond only in stoppage time — in the 90+2 minute, Nikolas Kalukyan scored his third goal of the current season.
Thanks to this victory, Pyunik consolidated second place in the standings, reducing the gap to leaders Ararat-Armenia to just one point. Urartu dropped to fourth place, trailing the top by three points, while having played one more match.
In another match of the day, BKMA also secured a 2–1 win over Van.
