Pyunik Beat Gandzasar and Move Up to Second Place in the Armenian Championship

Yerevan’s Pyunik claimed an important away victory in the penultimate round of the Fastex Armenian Premier League. Artak Oseyan’s team defeated Gandzasar 2-0 on the road.
The scoring was opened in the first half. In the 16th minute, Spanish forward Javi Moreno put Pyunik ahead, finishing off the visitors’ attack and giving his team an early and comfortable advantage.
After the break, the capital club strengthened its lead. In the 65th minute, Momo Yansane found the net. The Guinean forward scored Pyunik’s second goal and effectively settled the outcome of the match.
This victory carried major significance for the Yerevan side in the standings. Pyunik now have 51 points after 25 matches and have moved up to second place in the table ahead of their postponed fixture against Noah. Pyunik have 51 points from 25 games, while Noah have 49 points from 24 matches.
Gandzasar remained on 21 points after the defeat and sit eighth in the standings. For the team, this match was another difficult test against one of the league leaders.
In the final stage of the season, Pyunik continue their fight for the top positions and a place in European competition, while the upcoming postponed match against Noah could become one of the key fixtures in deciding the places in the upper part of the table.
