Pyunik thrashes Ararat and qualifies for European competitions

In the last crucial match of the season, Pyunik secured a convincing 5–2 victory over Ararat, clinching 4th place in the league table, which grants a spot in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Yeghe Melikyan’s team scored five goals thanks to a brace from Serge Deblé (24’, 39’), accurate strikes by Yusuf Otubanjo (53’) and Edgar Malakyan from the penalty spot (63’), as well as an own goal by Kalifala Doumbia (59’). Ararat responded with goals from Moussa Kanté (41’) and Doumbia again—this time in the opponent’s net (55’).
In the final round, Pyunik will face Van, but the result won’t affect the standings—4th place is already secured.
Thus, Pyunik becomes the fourth Armenian club that will represent the country in the 2025/26 European competitions.
