Five Armenian wrestlers to compete at the Polyák Imre & Varga János Ranking Tournament

From July 17 to 20, the annual Polyák Imre & Varga János 2025 ranking wrestling tournament will be held in Budapest, honoring the memory of legendary Hungarian athletes Imre Polyák and János Varga. This prestigious event is part of the United World Wrestling calendar and serves as a key preparation stage for the 2025 World Championships to be held in Zagreb in September.
The tournament will feature top wrestlers from around the world, including five members of Armenia's national team.
Representing Armenia in freestyle wrestling:
• Vazgen Tevanyan (up to 65 kg)
• Arman Andreasyan (up to 70 kg)
Competing in Greco-Roman wrestling:
• Karen Aslanyan (up to 63 kg)
• Samvel Grigoryan (up to 82 kg)
• Hayk Khloyan (up to 97 kg)
The official list of participants has been published on the United World Wrestling (UWW) website. The tournament in Budapest will be an excellent opportunity for Armenian athletes to test their form ahead of the main competition of the year and earn valuable ranking points for a more favorable draw at the World Championships.
