On March 8, the Friendship Park in Gyumri will host a true ice hockey celebration, organized by the Czech Embassy in Armenia. The highlight of the event will be a friendly match between the national teams of the Czech Republic and Armenia.
On March 4, a meeting took place at the office of the Armenian Hockey League (AHL), attended by the Czech Ambassador to Armenia, Petr Pirunčík, the President of the Armenian Hockey Federation, Vagharam Sargsyan, and the President of the AHL, Petr Lebedev. The agenda included discussions on the development of hockey in Armenia, the organization of the upcoming friendly match, and expectations for the Division IV Ice Hockey World Championship, which will be held in Yerevan from April 13 to 19.
Czech Ambassador Petr Pirunčík invited everyone to spend March 8 in an unusual way:
"I would like to invite everyone who wants to celebrate March 8 in a rather original way. Celebrate it by watching a friendly hockey match, enjoying some Czech beer, tasting Czech goulash, and ice skating. After the match, everyone will have the chance to step onto the ice."
The President of the Armenian Hockey Federation, Vagharam Sargsyan, also expressed confidence that the event will be held at a high level:
"We invite all hockey fans to Gyumri. This will be a wonderful event organized by the Czech Embassy, for which we are very grateful. There will be Czech beer and many surprises. It will be a great hockey celebration."
It is important to note that the match time has been changed. Initially scheduled for 17:30, the game will now start at 20:00.
Residents and guests of Gyumri can expect an unforgettable evening filled with sports excitement, a friendly atmosphere, and delicious Czech cuisine.
